Samurai: Bushi of the Forsaken Cross
(Elite Set of 4 Characters)
"Their armor is their tomb. Their blades are their confession."
The Samurai of the Army of the Puppeteers of the Crucified Shadows are the elite of the outcasts, whose nobility has been reforged in the fires of fanaticism. Encased in heavy O-yoroi armor inscribed with blasphemous sutras and prayers, they do not seek protection. Their plate merely holds their mangled flesh together until their blood oath is fulfilled. In the world of Trench Crusade, the appearance of these warriors on the battlefield heralds inevitable doom for the enemies of the faith—and for the Samurai themselves.

Nodachi «Sorrow Eater»:
Taste of Redemption: When killing an elite enemy or demon, the Samurai immediately restores 1 HP or removes a Shock marker. Their blades literally feed on the suffering of their victims.
Way of the Martyr: At the start of their activation, the Samurai may voluntarily take 1 Bleed marker to gain either +3" Charge distance or re-rolls on all failed hits in melee until the end of the turn.
Armor of Faith Shards: Samurai ignore movement penalties from heavy wounds. While at 1 HP, their Armor (A) increases to 5+, as fanatical rage makes them nearly immune to pain.
VISUAL DETAILS
Exile’s O-yoroi: Every plate of the armor is covered with micro-engravings of scripture, replacing traditional Japanese heraldry.
Symbols of Suffering: Instead of classic helmet ornaments (kabuto), they feature crucifixes and thorn weaves, emphasizing their bond with the "Puppeteers."
The Blades: Massive two-handed Nodachi appear notched from constant battle, their edges stained with the residue of ritual holy water baths.
PHILOSOPHICAL ASPECT
The Bushi Samurai are warriors for whom the path of honor has turned into a perpetual act of penance. They do not strive for victory in the conventional sense; their goal is the redemption of sins through transcendent fury. They are living monuments of pain, believing that every strike of their sword brings the "Resurrection of the Japanese Christ" closer. Within the army of the Puppeteers of the Crucified Shadows, they serve as the indestructible vanguard, marching wherever death is most certain.
